Copper Mountain Ski Resort, known as the “Athlete’s Mountain,” sits in Summit County, Colorado, right off I-70 (Exit 195)—about 75–100 miles west of Denver/DIA and 7 miles from Frisco. The location makes it one of the easiest big mountains to reach in the Rockies.
Copper’s naturally “zoned” terrain flows from gentle west-side greens to blue cruisers mid-mountain and steeper bowls and chutes up high, so families and mixed-ability groups can spread out without crisscrossing all day. Woodward Mountain Parks add progression-friendly freestyle zones for every level. Copper has a lively base area, with a good variety of restaurants, shops, coffee shops, activities, and more. From homes to townhomes and condos, there is a good mix of accommodations near Copper Mountain, making it incredibly easy to get to and from the mountain each day of your vacation.
